Timoleon Lamprou is an exceptionally honest man who often loses his job because of his sincerity.
When he finds the wallet of retired General Solon Karaleon, he returns it with nothing missing, despite being in a state of extreme poverty.
Impressed by his integrity, the General hires him as an accountant at the large public organisation he manages.
Soon, however, Timoleon discovers serious embezzlement in the organisation’s accounts, for which Antonis, the brother of the General’s wife, Lia, is responsible.
When he reveals the truth, Antonis and Lia try to portray him as either insane or a fraud, in an attempt to cover up their actions.
