With an area of only 22.356 km², Meganisi counts more than 30km of exotic coastline, because of its unique shape, with emerald and turquoise crystal clear waters.
There are three villages on the island.
Vathi, a traditional fishing village with a picturesque port, which is a tourist resort and a favourite dock for yachts.
Spartochori, with traditional houses, narrow alleys and stunning views.
Katomeri, the capital of the island, also a traditional village, built on a hill overlooking the bay of Atherinos.
The island retains its traditional character with beautiful stone houses, picturesque harbours and old windmills.
